Helena Caldeira

_ ABALAR aims to tell the stories and traditions of rural women's practices, using folklore as a vehicle and contemporary culture as a provocation. It aims to celebrate the female voice and traditions, and then break them. It is an ode to Women, the Countryside and Alentejo. It is a tribute to cultural heritage and a call to our origins.

ABALAR will be the debut album of the Portuguese actress Helena Caldeira (known for Rabo de Peixe, Netflix) and singer. In this album, the artist draws on her experience in theater and cinema and seeks out stories of women who worked in the countryside and were left alone to care for their families, in order to create narratives for the construction of the songs. Each song will be a short story.
